Other Notes
Language Requirements Applicable to Mainland Students
Students born in Mainland or holding PRC passport, must obtain a NUFFIC certificate to study in the Netherlands. The NUFFIC certificate requires either TOEFL IBT or IELTS. Test scores must be valid and not EXPIRED or EXPRING within 8 months after your application submission. No other tests or scores will be accepted. Mainland students should only apply to schools in the Netherlands if you meet this requirement.

Course Registration
MATH courses are available for exchange students.

Exchange Students are not allowed to take Master courses and first year courses.

Examinations
It is important to note that students who are exchanging to University of Amsterdam in the Fall semester must complete all examinations before coming back to Hong Kong.

Visa Application
The student visa fee for the Netherlands has been increased to $600 Euros, effective Fall 2012.

Housing Arrangement
Starting the academic year of 2023, the UvA will no longer offer priority to housing applications from non-European students. Students are generally encouraged to choose the lowest priced housing as it is sometimes closest to the university and downtown canals.
