Insurance
University of Southern California has specific insurance requirements, so students exchanging to this school must purchase insurances in order to meet the requirements. Please refer to Fact Sheet for more details.

English Requirements

An English requirement is needed for applicants to USC. TOEFL (recommended) score report must be submitted before deadline of the exchange application. Please refer to the below for details of acceptable English scores. These scores must not be expired and be valid 8 months after the exchange application period.

TOEFL (Recommended)
Internet-Based (iBT) – min. score of 90 with no one sub-score less than Reading 20, Listening 20, Speaking 20, and Writing 20
Paper-Based – not accepted
Computer-Based – not accepted

(**IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 on each band score can also be accepted)

All applicants, regardless of nationality and native language, must have TOEFL or IELTS to apply USC.

Course Selection

1) Exchange students take an average of 16-18 credits at USC. Students are not allowed to overload unless under special consultation with SBM.
 
2) Exchange students shall take at least 3 courses in the Marshall Business School. Students deviating from this selection will require consultation with SBM.

Proof of Funding
All students are required to submit proof of funding that demonstrates sufficient amount for the duration of their program.
• 1 semester: minimum of $10,000

Bank Statement & Proof of Funding Letter Guidelines
• Must be in English – if not, provide a translation
• Funding should be indicated in USD – if not, attach a currency conversion from XE
• Must indicate type of readily available account (savings/checking) – no investments, stocks, mutual funds, line of credit, etc.
• Must be no older than 3 months from date submitted
• Online bank statements must indicate the financial institution, account holder’s name, and type of account
• Letter from bank must be printed on bank letterhead and signed
