Admission Scholarships

The university provides a wide variety of scholarships for students who demonstrate exceptional academic accomplishment. If you think you may qualify for a scholarship, you can find out more about the programs at the Scholarships & Financial Aid Office.

JUPAS Scholarships for students admitted into Business School (for students admitted in Fall 2024)

JUPAS students attaining Level 5* or 5** in 1 or more Category A subject(s) in one single sitting of HKDSE will be eligible for JUPAS Scholarships. On top of the JUPAS Scholarships offered by the university, Business School also provides top-up scholarships to high-achievers with strong application profiles.

Students do not have to apply for JUPAS Scholarships. The University will identify qualified JUPAS entrants and inform selected students of the scholarship awards individually. 

# If students attain a HKDSE result with a total number of 8 * inclusive of 3 subjects with 5**, they will be entitled to an admissions scholarship that will cover “full tuition in Year 1, and half tuition in Year 2-4, renewable for normal duration of study”.

Remarks

1. Students will be entitled to the higher award level offered under either (A) Total number of * attained or (B) Number of subjects with 5** attained.

2. Total number of * attained is equal to number of subjects with 5** x 2 + number of subjects with 5*.

3. Mathematics Extended Module 1 (Calculus and Statistics) and Mathematics Extended Module 2 (Algebra and Calculus) are also counted as independent subjects in the subject requirements of the Scholarship Scheme.

4. Results for Applied Learning subjects (Category B) and Other Language subjects (Category C) are not considered in the Scholarship Scheme.

5. The Business School Admissions Scholarship is only applicable for eligible students who are admitted to any of our Business Programs and the two Joint Programs (JS5814 BSc in Risk Management and Business Intelligence and JS5822 BSc in Sustainable and Green Finance)

IB and GCEAL/ International AL Scholarship for students admitted into Business School (for students admitted in Fall 2024)

On top of the scholarship awarded under University Admission Scholarship Scheme, we are pleased to announce that the School may also top-up the scholarship for applicants with strong profile and interview performance (if applicable). No application for admission scholarship is needed. Details will be sent to eligible students individually.

Scholarship for students admitted into Business School via other qualifications (for students admitted in Fall 2024)

Selected students admitted via other national or international qualifications may receive scholarships from the Business School. No application for admission scholarship is needed. Details will be sent to eligible students individually.

Non-academic Scholarships for Students (for students admitted in Fall 2024)

To encourage students to follow their passion and be fully engaged in meaningful non-academic endeavors, the HKSAR Government and HKUST have established non-academic Scholarships for students. Please visit here for details.

Beyond Academic Admissions Scholarship (BAAS)

The scheme was newly launched in 2021 which aims to support young talents who wish to realize their full potential without sacrificing their academic studies. A separate application is required. More details can be found at https://join.hkust.edu.hk/baas.

Student Athletes Admission Scheme (SAAS) - Local students only

The scheme was launched in 2018 which aims to offer thorough support to help elite student athletes pursuing their sporting dreams while still receiving a quality education. Interested student athletes should submit an application at https://join.ust.hk/saas/.
