For applicants who have taken the Joint Entrance Examination for Universities in the People’s Republic of China (JEE / Gaokao).

Students applying on the basis of mainland JEE qualification should select only one choice in application. Depending on your choice of program, you may additionally select an alternative choice.

If you are interested in business studies in general and would like to take time to explore your program interest and aspiration, you should choose Business and Management to enter the School first and select your desired major(s) at the end of the first few semesters. About half of the program seats for each major are reserved for students admitted into Business & Management to enter the programs via the Major Selection Exercises (MSE).

If you have particular interest and understanding in a specific business program (e.g. Marketing), you should put it as your 1st choice and Business & Management as your alternative choice to maximize your chance to be admitted to HKUST Business School (given the smaller intake size of program-based admissions).The year 1 curricula of all Business programs are identical. Students entering via either route will start major program study from 2nd year onwards.

Outstanding applicants may be identified as eligible candidates for the Graduate Program Pathway (GPP). Students admitted with GPP will enjoy a special pathway to early admissions consideration for the Master of Science (MSc) programs at HKUST Business School, contingent upon meeting specific academic criteria during the first three years of UG studies.
